ER16 COLLETS 

Good quality collets are paramount for prolonging tool life and delivering the best work through your CNC machine.

Your collets should be checked and cleaned regularly for the highest performance from your cutting tool. Always insert the collet into the nut before adding tooling.

3DTEK supply 16 slot ER collets as standard, which allow for 1mm of crush. This means you can clamp evenly onto tooling, 1mm less than or equal to the tool size. For example, a ER collet market ‘7-6’  will suit a tool of 7mm down to 6mm. This is ideally suited for 7mm tools and also 1/4 inch (6.35mm) tooling. You should never force tooling into a collet. Always use the exact size or crush down.

Using the biggest available ER collet for your spindle ensures maximum clamping force on your tool and minimum tool run out (wobble).
